To understand the difference between and the purpose of formative and summative assessment
To design formative and summative assessments that directly measure student understanding of essential outcomes ( & state standards)
To know when to use and how to create valid and reliable selected response, performance based, short answer, and perception/disposition assessments
To evaluate student learning by organizing, grouping, and analyzing assessment items (aka question types)
Data Analysis
Teachers will be able:
To utilize data tools to collect performance information on your students
To participate in an unbiased team discussion concerning common assessment data
To organize, group, and analyze student performance information in order to generate hypotheses
To develop a focused and measurable classroom plan to test your hypothesis prior to the summative assessment
